Understanding Chemsex
What Is PnP? When Does Party and Play Start Becoming Hard to Control?
In this video, I explore why Party and Play can be so appealing — including sexual intensity, confidence, connection, belonging, reduced inhibition and escape — as well as some of the changes that may be worth paying attention to.
About this video
What does PnP mean — and how do you know when Party and Play is becoming harder to control?
PnP stands for “Party and Play” and is a term commonly used, particularly in North America, to describe the use of certain recreational drugs in connection with sex. You may also hear the term Chemsex.
But participating in PnP doesn't automatically mean that you're addicted or that you have a problem.
The more useful question may be:
Is your relationship with PnP beginning to change?
Perhaps PnP used to happen occasionally, but is becoming more frequent.
Maybe you're setting boundaries and repeatedly breaking them.
Maybe sex without drugs is becoming less appealing.
Or perhaps you're still functioning perfectly well, but PnP is beginning to occupy more of your thoughts, weekends or sex life than you want it to.
You don't have to identify as an addict or wait for your life to fall apart before becoming curious about what's happening.
